found an amazing book at issues this weekend: I COULD TELL YOU BUT THEN YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE DESTROYED BY ME. it explores the heraldry of secret military flight projects in the united states. i got super excited looking at these patches, reading the accompanying text that attempts to decode the symbology and imagining what the unexplained parts could mean. i get the same feeling looking at viking runes, ancient aztec motifs, coats of arms and other coded images...
